Sermon, Applying Biblical Principles to the St Lucie County Fire District Proposed Additional Tax Titled Authorization to Fund Fire Protection Services with Annual Non-Ad Valorem Assessments, by Pastor Bryan Longworth, Covenant Tabernacle
The St Lucie County Fire District proposed additional property tax titled Authorization to Fund Fire Protection Services with Annual Non-Ad Valorem Assessments. Property taxes violate the biblical principle of inheritance and property rights because if you don’t pay property taxes, the government will take your property. (See Deuteronomy 19:14.) In this short sermon, Pastor Bryan Longworth shows how this tax would violate biblical principles of proper taxation. Additional, Longworth shows that there is still much waste in the Saint Lucie County Fire Department that could free up the additional funds to pay for the needed equipment.

We recommend voting no on St. Lucie County Proposition 6 titled Authorization to Fund Fire Protection Services with Annual Non-Ad Valorem Assessments.

Sermon, On This Generation

Sermon: On This Generation

Sermon: On This Generation

On Palm Sunday, we commemorate the triumphal entry into Jerusalem. Often, we think about this as a historical event, but I want to ask you to apply these passages to our lives today.

In this sermon we apply Christ’s triumphal entry into Jerusalem, his warning to the Jewish people, his longing to take their children under his arms, and the marked change of events when the same people who praised Christ, cried out, “Crucify Him! Crucify Him!

As we apply these passages to our current day, we compare the Scribes and Pharisees to some religious leaders of our day; we compare the warnings of Jesus to the issues we face today including: abortion, homosexual marriage, the Bible, the Ten Commandments, and Prayer. In particular, we examine Christ’s warning that on this generation will come the guilt of all of the bloodshed since the foundation of the world and compare the blood guild of over 59,000,000 preborn children killed by abortion whose blood is currently crying out for vengeance, and we examine the horrifying words of the Jewish people to Pilate: “His blood be on us and on our children.”

What if the Lord requires of our generation the blood of over 59,000,000 preborn babies slaughtered by abortion. What if Christ wants to gather our children under His wings, but we refuse? What if we cry out: their blood be on us and on our children?

May the Lord convict us of our sins and grant us repentance that we might turn from our wicked ways so that our nation and children can escape the fierce wrath that hangs over it.

On This Generation

Opening Passage – Psalm 100.

Hosanna to the Son of David – Matthew 21:1-16.

Matthew 21:1-16 – 1 Now when they drew near Jerusalem, and came to Bethphage, at the Mount of Olives, then Jesus sent two disciples, 2 saying to them, “Go into the village opposite you, and immediately you will find a donkey tied, and a colt with her. Loose them and bring them to Me. 3 “And if anyone says anything to you, you shall say, ‘The Lord has need of them,’ and immediately he will send them.” 4 All this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying: 5 “Tell the daughter of Zion, ‘Behold, your King is coming to you, Lowly, and sitting on a donkey, A colt, the foal of a donkey.'” 6 So the disciples went and did as Jesus commanded them. 7 They brought the donkey and the colt, laid their clothes on them, and set Him on them. 8 And a very great multitude spread their clothes on the road; others cut down branches from the trees and spread them on the road. 9 Then the multitudes who went before and those who followed cried out, saying: “Hosanna to the Son of David! ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the LORD!’ Hosanna in the highest!” 10 And when He had come into Jerusalem, all the city was moved, saying, “Who is this?” 11 So the multitudes said, “This is Jesus, the prophet from Nazareth of Galilee.” 12 Then Jesus went into the temple of God and drove out all those who bought and sold in the temple, and overturned the tables of the money changers and the seats of those who sold doves. 13 And He said to them, “It is written, ‘My house shall be called a house of prayer,’ but you have made it a ‘den of thieves.'” 14 Then the blind and the lame came to Him in the temple, and He healed them. 15 But when the chief priests and scribes saw the wonderful things that He did, and the children crying out in the temple and saying, “Hosanna to the Son of David!” they were indignant 16 and said to Him, “Do You hear what these are saying?” And Jesus said to them, “Yes. Have you never read, ‘Out of the mouth of babes and nursing infants You have perfected praise’?” NKJV

On This Generation – Matthew 23.

Matthew 23:1-39 – 1 Then Jesus spoke to the multitudes and to His disciples, 2 saying: “The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat. 3 “Therefore whatever they tell you to observe, that observe and do, but do not do according to their works; for they say, and do not do. 4 “For they bind heavy burdens, hard to bear, and lay them on men’s shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers. 5 “But all their works they do to be seen by men. They make their phylacteries broad and enlarge the borders of their garments. 6 “They love the best places at feasts, the best seats in the synagogues, 7 “greetings in the marketplaces, and to be called by men, ‘Rabbi, Rabbi.’ 8 “But you, do not be called ‘Rabbi’; for One is your Teacher, the Christ, and you are all brethren. 9 “Do not call anyone on earth your father; for One is your Father, He who is in heaven. 10 “And do not be called teachers; for One is your Teacher, the Christ. 11 “But he who is greatest among you shall be your servant. 12 “And whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted. 13 “But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you shut up the kingdom of heaven against men; for you neither go in yourselves, nor do you allow those who are entering to go in. 14 “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you devour widows’ houses, and for a pretense make long prayers. Therefore you will receive greater condemnation. 15 “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you travel land and sea to win one proselyte, and when he is won, you make him twice as much a son of hell as yourselves. 16 “Woe to you, blind guides, who say, ‘Whoever swears by the temple, it is nothing; but whoever swears by the gold of the temple, he is obliged to perform it.’ 17 “Fools and blind! For which is greater, the gold or the temple that sanctifies the gold? 18 “And, ‘Whoever swears by the altar, it is nothing; but whoever swears by the gift that is on it, he is obliged to perform it.’ 19 “Fools and blind! For which is greater, the gift or the altar that sanctifies the gift? 20 “Therefore he who swears by the altar, swears by it and by all things on it. 21 “He who swears by the temple, swears by it and by Him who dwells in it. 22 “And he who swears by heaven, swears by the throne of God and by Him who sits on it. 23 “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have neglected the weightier matters of the law: justice and mercy and faith. These you ought to have done, without leaving the others undone. 24 “Blind guides, who strain out a gnat and swallow a camel! 25 “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you cleanse the outside of the cup and dish, but inside they are full of extortion and self-indulgence. 26 “Blind Pharisee, first cleanse the inside of the cup and dish, that the outside of them may be clean also. 27 “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs which indeed appear beautiful outwardly, but inside are full of dead men’s bones and all uncleanness. 28 “Even so you also outwardly appear righteous to men, but inside you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness. 29 “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! Because you build the tombs of the prophets and adorn the monuments of the righteous, 30 “and say, ‘If we had lived in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets.’ 31 “Therefore you are witnesses against yourselves that you are sons of those who murdered the prophets. 32 “Fill up, then, the measure of your fathers’ guilt. 33 “Serpents, brood of vipers! How can you escape the condemnation of hell? 34 “Therefore, indeed, I send you prophets, wise men, and scribes: some of them you will kill and crucify, and some of them you will scourge in your synagogues and persecute from city to city, 35 “that on you may come all the righteous blood shed on the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zechariah, son of Berechiah, whom you murdered between the temple and the altar. 36 “Assuredly, I say to you, all these things will come upon this generation. 37 “O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the one who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing! 38 “See! Your house is left to you desolate; 39 “for I say to you, you shall see Me no more till you say, ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the LORD!'” NKJV

His Blood be On Us and On Our Children – Matthew 27:15-26

Matthew 27:15-26 – 15 Now at the feast the governor was accustomed to releasing to the multitude one prisoner whom they wished. 16 And at that time they had a notorious prisoner called Barabbas. 17 Therefore, when they had gathered together, Pilate said to them, “Whom do you want me to release to you? Barabbas, or Jesus who is called Christ?” 18 For he knew that they had handed Him over because of envy. 19 While he was sitting on the judgment seat, his wife sent to him, saying, “Have nothing to do with that just Man, for I have suffered many things today in a dream because of Him.” 20 But the chief priests and elders persuaded the multitudes that they should ask for Barabbas and destroy Jesus. 21 The governor answered and said to them, “Which of the two do you want me to release to you?” They said, “Barabbas!” 22 Pilate said to them, “What then shall I do with Jesus who is called Christ?” They all said to him, “Let Him be crucified!” 23 Then the governor said, “Why, what evil has He done?” But they cried out all the more, saying, “Let Him be crucified!” 24 When Pilate saw that he could not prevail at all, but rather that a tumult was rising, he took water and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, “I am innocent of the blood of this just Person. You see to it.” 25 And all the people answered and said, “His blood be on us and on our children.” 26 Then he released Barabbas to them; and when he had scourged Jesus, he delivered Him to be crucified. Sermon, The Origin of Thanksgiving, Pastor Bryan Longworth

Family Celebrates Thanksgiving Pray Praise God

Happy Thanksgiving

Have you ever noticed how stores switch from Halloween to Christmas while totally bypassing Thanksgiving? It’s as if they hope that we’ll skip the holiday altogether and spend more time focused on buying Christmas presents.

Well, God wants us to give thanks, not only this time of the year but all year, and we have much to be thankful for. With everything that is troubling in our society and government, God gives us hope and a chance to make a difference!

This Thanksgiving, make sure to take time to thank God and to spend time with family and friends. God is our provider and the giver of every perfect gift. Let us give thanks with a grateful heart.

Sermon, Applying Biblical Principles to Proposed Amendments to the FL Constitution and Children’s Services Council County Resolutions

November 4, 2014, voters in the state of Florida will vote on three proposed constitutional amendments and in counties that have a Children’s Services Council, voters will vote on whether to reauthorize the Children’s Services Council or not. Since the FL Constitution is the supreme law of Florida subject only to the US Constitution, voters have a duty to research carefully the proposed amendments. Our vote will have a lasting impact on our state for generations to come.

The following is a voter guide that will first provide recommendations and then further explanation of the rational behind the recommendations. You will also hear a sermon preached by Pastor Bryan Longworth covering the proposed constitutional amendments and county resolution.

Constitutional Amendment and County Resolution Voter Guide

Amendment 1 – Water and Land Conservation

Recommendation: Vote No

Amendment 2 – Use of Marijuana for Certain Medical Conditions

Recommendation: Vote No

Amendment 3 – Prospective Appointment of Certain Judicial Vacancies

Recommendation: Vote Yes

County Referendum – Reauthorization of the Children’s Services Council (in select counties)

Recommendation: Vote No

Voter Guide w/ Explanation

Amendment 1 – Water and Land Conservation

Recommendation: Vote No

A YES VOTE places this legislative budget issue into the Florida Constitution and mandate that for 20 years, thirty three percent (33%) of public funds from tax dollars of existing excise taxes on documents will be dedicated to buying new and improving existing water and land conservation properties through the power of eminent domain.1

A NO VOTE allows the state government through the legislative process to continue to allocate budgeted funds for the purposes of buying and improving land and water conservation properties. Currently there is no requirement that 33% of tax revenues from excise taxes on documents be used for this purpose.1

1 Samuel 8:14 & 17b-18 – “And he will take the best of your fields, your vineyards, and your olive groves, and give them to his servants. . . And you will be his servants. And you will cry out in that day because of your king whom you have chosen for yourselves, and the LORD will not hear you in that day.” (NKJV)

According to MikeHofstee.com, “The total land area for the state of Florida is approximately 34,721,280 acres while the total of non -submerged lands in government conservation is 9,382,809 acres or 27% while other government land holdings push that number over 30%.”

According to Dan Peterson, Executive Director of the Orlando based Coalition for Property Rights, the State of Florida has not been able to produce a current and accurate inventory for years and that the government cannot currently afford to maintain the lands it owns.

Amendment 2 – Use of Marijuana for Certain Medical Conditions

Recommendation: Vote No

A YES VOTE legalizes the smoking of marijuana in all 67 Florida counties for “any condition”, which could include fatigue, depression, body aches, nausea, pain, and headaches. Any person at least 21 years of age could be considered a “caregiver” and sell the drug without a prescription. There are no age restrictions or parental consent requirements, so minor children would be eligible to buy and smoke marijuana without their parents’ permission.1

A NOTE VOTE allows Florida’s current law against buying, selling and smoking marijuana to remain in effect. Voting against this amendment will not affect the 2014 law which was passed in the state legislature and allows for a special strain of non-euphoric medical marijuana in a pill to be prescribed by physicians to treat children with certain seizures and to be used for other debilitating medical conditions.1

Romans 13:13-14 – “Let us walk properly, as in the day, not in revelry and drunkenness, not in lewdness and lust, not in strife and envy. But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts.” (NKJV)

The Importance of Personal Responsibility in the Law of God

Amendment 3 – Prospective Appointment of Certain Judicial Vacancies

Recommendation: Vote Yes

A YES VOTE allows the Governor of Florida to begin the process of reviewing and selecting a new judge to replace an existing judge (who must resign because of the mandatory retirement age or ineligibility) during the time that the existing judge is still in office and not wait until after the date of retirement to replace the judge.1

A NO VOTE requires the Governor to wait until the date that an existing judge’s term expires and an actual vacancy in the court occurs before he/she could start the process of finding a new judge. Currently, a vacancy on the court occurs for a period of time after an existing judge retires because the Governor is not allowed to begin the process of replacing the existing judge until after the date of his/her retirement.1

Deuteronomy 16:18-20 – “You shall appoint judges and officers in all your gates, which the LORD your God gives you, according to your tribes, and they shall judge the people with just judgment. You shall not pervert justice; you shall not show partiality, nor take a bribe, for a bribe blinds the eyes of the wise and twists the words of the righteous. You shall follow what is altogether just, that you may live and inherit the land which the LORD your God is giving you.” (NKJV)

If amendment 3 passed, it will make it even more important to choose a governor who will appoint judges who will not pervert justice. If amendment 3 passes, the next governor will appoint four supreme court justices. Charlie Crist appointed the other three in his previous term as governor. Given Crist’s move to the left in the last four years which includes vetoing prolife legislation and supporting Obamacare, can we trust him to replace the remaining supreme court justices?

St Lucie County Referendum 4 – Reauthorization of the Children’s Services Council

Recommendation: Vote No

A YES VOTE allows reauthorizes the Children’s Services Council to continue to collect taxes from property owners to distribute to organizations that provide care for children. A portion of that money will fund Children’s Services Council buildings and staff and will not reach the intended recipients, the children.

A NO VOTE would end the Children’s Services Council in your county. A no vote would allow private citizens to choose which groups receive donations. A no vote would not prohibit other government agencies such as the county commission from funding organizations that help children.

Luke 10:25-37 — The Good Samaritan

Thomas Jefferson, letter to Joseph Milligan, April 6, 1816 — “To take from one, because it is thought his own industry and that of his fathers has acquired too much, in order to spare to others, who, or whose fathers, have not exercised equal industry and skill, is to violate arbitrarily the first principle of association, the guarantee to everyone the free exercise of his industry and the fruits acquired by it.”2

James Madison, 4 Annals of Congress 179, 1794 – “I cannot undertake to lay my finger on that article of the Constitution which granted a right to Congress of expending, on objects of benevolence, the money of their constituents.”2

In the Bible, charity is command by God but is also voluntary. Our nation’s founding fathers agreed with this principle. Today, some individuals prefer to use government agencies to take money from you to do what they are unwilling to do with their own money.

Such is the case with the Children’s Services Council (CSC). CSC’s are independent taxing authorities that collects money through property tax and then distributes that money to agencies that help children. They operate in the following counties: Broward, Charlotte, Highlands, Lake, Martin, Okeechobee, Palm Beach, and St Lucie. (Other FL counties handle funding of programs that benefit children through private donations and/or assistance from the county commission.) Since CSC boards are not elected, voters have no say in how the money is spent. Voters in each of these counties will vote on whether to reauthorize the CSC in their county or not.

There is nothing wrong with many of the programs funded by the CSC. The problem is that taxpayers are forced to pay for these services. The result is that agencies that are funded don’t need to work as hard to obtain donations. They also have more money to spend and spend a larger portion of that on salaries and buildings than organizations that are funded solely by charity. The CSCs also have buildings and staff. Consequently, a sizable percentage of the money collected never reaches the children who need help.

Sadly, the CSC can fund programs that are in opposition to the values of voters. A case in point is the funding of Planned Parenthood programs by certain CSC’s including those in St Lucie, Martin, and Palm Beach Counties. Thankfully after years of protest, citizens in St Lucie and Martin counties were successful in defunding Planned Parenthood, but the Palm Beach County Children’s Services Council continues to give over $2,000,000 per year to Planned Parenthood. Moreover, the St Lucie County Children’s Services Council continues to fund that same type of graphic condom ed that Planned Parenthood used to provide.

I urge you to vote no on the County Referendum to Reauthorize the Children’s Services Council.

Vote Today & Join Me in Prayer for Our Cities, Counties, State, and Nation

George Washington Praying Nest to his Horse

Let Us Turn to God

At the founding of this country, it was common for pastors to preach election day sermons lasting as long as three hours. In these sermons, pastors implored their congregations to vote according to Biblical values.

John Jay said, “Providence has given to our people the choice of their rulers, and it is the duty, as well as the privilege and interest of our Christian nation, to select and prefer Christians for their rulers.”

If you haven’t voted yet, please do so today, Tuesday, August 26. The polls are open until 7 pm. View non-partisan voter guides here.

At the founding of this country, it was also common for politicians to call for national days of prayer and fasting where citizens were called upon to abstain from their servile work to pray for their country. During these times of prayer and turning to God, God did hear from heaven, forgive their sins, and heal their land!

We are in a time in America today where we need to turn back to God, and on this primary election day, I ask you to join me in prayer and, if you are able, fasting for today’s election. From Daniel 2:21, we know that God removes kings and raises up kings. We also know from Daniel 4:17 that “the Most High rules in the kingdom of men, Gives it to whomever He will, And sets over it the lowest of men.”

Will you join me in prayer for America today and for His will in the outcome of today’s election? Gather in churches and public squares across this state, pray while holding a sign for a candidate, or pray where you are. Let us cry out to God on behalf of our cities, counties, state, and nation.

“If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” (2 Chronicles 7:14 NKJV)

Sermon Notes: An Election Prayer – Lord Raise Up Righteous Rulers to Deliver Us

OPENING PASSAGE — Psalm 116.

“I love the LORD, because He has heard My voice and my supplications. Because He has inclined His ear to me, Therefore I will call upon Him as long as I live. The pains of death surrounded me, And the pangs of Sheol laid hold of me; I found trouble and sorrow. Then I called upon the name of the LORD: ‘O LORD, I implore You, deliver my soul!’ Gracious is the LORD, and righteous; Yes, our God is merciful. The LORD preserves the simple; I was brought low, and He saved me. Return to your rest, O my soul, For the LORD has dealt bountifully with you. For You have delivered my soul from death, My eyes from tears, And my feet from falling. I will walk before the LORD In the land of the living. I believed, therefore I spoke, ‘I am greatly afflicted.’ I said in my haste, ‘All men are liars.’ What shall I render to the LORD For all His benefits toward me? I will take up the cup of salvation, And call upon the name of the LORD. I will pay my vows to the LORD Now in the presence of all His people. Precious in the sight of the LORD Is the death of His saints. O LORD, truly I am Your servant; I am Your servant, the son of Your maidservant; You have loosed my bonds. I will offer to You the sacrifice of thanksgiving, And will call upon the name of the LORD. I will pay my vows to the LORD Now in the presence of all His people, In the courts of the LORD’S house, In the midst of you, O Jerusalem. Praise the LORD!”

Noah Webster

“When you become entitled to exercise the right of voting for public officers, let it be impressed on your mind that God commands you to choose for rulers, “just men who will rule in the fear of God.” The preservation of government depends on the faithful discharge of this duty; if the citizens neglect their duty and place unprincipled men in office, the government will soon be corrupted; laws will be made, not for the public good so much as for selfish or local purposes; corrupt or incompetent men will be appointed to execute the laws; the public revenues will be sqandered on unworthy men; and the rights of the citizens will be violated or disregarded. If a republican government fails to secure public prosperity and happiness, it must be because the citizens neglect the divine commands, and elect bad men to make and administer the laws.”

[Noah Webster, History of the United States (New Haven: Durrie & Peck, 1832), pp. 336-337.]

Proverbs 14:34 – “Righteousness exalts a nation, But sin is a reproach to any people.” (NKJV)

Proverbs 28:12 – “When the righteous rejoice, there is great glory; But when the wicked arise, men hide themselves.” (Ref. vs. 28) (NKJV)

Psalms 33:12 19 – “Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, The people He has chosen as His own inheritance. . . No king is saved by the multitude of an army; A mighty man is not delivered by great strength. A horse is a vain hope for safety; Neither shall it deliver any by its great strength. Behold, the eye of the LORD is on those who fear Him, On those who hope in His mercy, To deliver their soul from death, And to keep them alive in famine.” (NKJV)

1 Timothy 2:1 2 – “Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence.” (NKJV)

Where Do the Candidates Stand on the Sanctity of Human Life?

Sanctity of Human Life

Enjoy & Defend Life!

Where do the candidates in your area stand on the sanctity of human life? In the past, you had to guess. You didn’t really know all the way. In fact, many pro-life and pro-family organizations in their voter guides merely asked: “do you oppose abortion except in the cases of rape, incest, and life of the mother?” Nowhere were they asked: will you protect all innocent human life without exception? Those voter guides also didn’t ask about other sanctity of human life issues.

Well, those days are gone for the state of Florida because in the state of Florida, we’ve asked the candidates to take a stand. We didn’t ask them where they stand. We asked them to agree with our comprehensive Pro-Life Principles covering not just on abortion but also: embryonic stem cell research, human cloning, RU-486, tax funding of abortion, fetal tissue research, assisted suicide, and euthanasia. We also asked for candidates to defend all innocent human life including those children who have been conceived in rape or incest. (Read our Pro-Life Principles here.)

We contacted all state and federal candidates in Florida as well as candidates for local offices in 55 of the 67 counties, over 3,000 candidates in all. Candidates from all levels of office from Soil and Water District all the way up to US Congress have taken a stand to defend the sanctity of innocent human life.

We’re going to look at what the Bible has to say about these issues and see what God would have us believe to develop this Biblical worldview.

Sermon Notes:

Opening Passage —

Psalms 71:1-24 – “In You, O LORD, I put my trust; Let me never be put to shame. Deliver me in Your righteousness, and cause me to escape; Incline Your ear to me, and save me. Be my strong refuge, To which I may resort continually; You have given the commandment to save me, For You are my rock and my fortress. Deliver me, O my God, out of the hand of the wicked, Out of the hand of the unrighteous and cruel man. For You are my hope, O Lord GOD; You are my trust from my youth. By You I have been upheld from birth; You are He who took me out of my mother’s womb. My praise shall be continually of You. I have become as a wonder to many, But You are my strong refuge. Let my mouth be filled with Your praise And with Your glory all the day. Do not cast me off in the time of old age; Do not forsake me when my strength fails. For my enemies speak against me; And those who lie in wait for my life take counsel together, Saying, “God has forsaken him; Pursue and take him, for there is none to deliver him.” O God, do not be far from me; O my God, make haste to help me! Let them be confounded and consumed Who are adversaries of my life; Let them be covered with reproach and dishonor Who seek my hurt. But I will hope continually, And will praise You yet more and more. My mouth shall tell of Your righteousness And Your salvation all the day, For I do not know their limits. I will go in the strength of the Lord GOD; I will make mention of Your righteousness, of Yours only. O God, You have taught me from my youth; And to this day I declare Your wondrous works. Now also when I am old and grayheaded, O God, do not forsake me, Until I declare Your strength to this generation, Your power to everyone who is to come. Also Your righteousness, O God, is very high, You who have done great things; O God, who is like You? You, who have shown me great and severe troubles, Shall revive me again, And bring me up again from the depths of the earth. You shall increase my greatness, And comfort me on every side. Also with the lute I will praise you-And Your faithfulness, O my God! To You I will sing with the harp, O Holy One of Israel. My lips shall greatly rejoice when I sing to You, And my soul, which You have redeemed. My tongue also shall talk of Your righteousness all the day long; For they are confounded, For they are brought to shame Who seek my hurt.” (NKJV)

Covenant Tabernacle World Outreach Center

Covenant Tabernacle

Covenant Tabernacle World Outreach Center in Port Saint Lucie Florida is a nondenominational, charismatic reformed church that believes the Pentecostal gifts of the Holy Spirit are available to believers today. We believe God has called us to worship, proclaim His word, and Disciple the nations in obedience to His commandments.

Vibrant Worship

At Covenant Tabernacle, we believe in worshiping God “with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.” (Mark 12:30 – NKJV) As a part of our worship, we blow the Shofar as blown in ancient Jewish worship.

Powerful, Bible based Preaching

We believe that the word of God is true (2 Samuel 7:28) and that “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.” (2 Timothy 3:16-17 NKJV) We encourage all believers to develop a Biblical Worldview that shapes our view on not only our personal life but also our family, friends, loved ones, church, and civil government.

Discipleship

We believe in following Christ’s Great Commission to “‘go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.’ Amen.” (Matthew 28:19-20 NKJV) As such, we believe in discipling individuals, families, communities, cities, states, and nations in obedience to God’s word.

Does the City of Fort Pierce Really Need an Armored Vehicle?

Ft. Pierce Armored Vehicle SWAT Team

Ft Pierce Police Armored Vehicle

Does the city of Fort Pierce Police force really need an armored vehicle? What are they preparing for?

WPTV has reported that the Fort Pierce police department acquired the $700,000 armored vehicle with only 5,000 miles on it from the US military for $2,000. That’s quite a bargain, especially considering the $125,000 trolley Ft Pierce parked due to low ridership. When you consider that US taxpayers already spent $700,000 to purchase the vehicle however, the vehicle doesn’t look like much of a bargain anymore.

“If you see my SWAT team roll up in this, it’s over, so just give up,” said Police Chief Sam Baldwin.

On might wonder why the military would get rid of such an expensive vehicle after only limited use. One might also wonder why a city with just over 42,000 residents needs such a vehicle.

In America today, we see two contrary movements happening. On the one hand, we see the reduction in size and strength of the US military. On the other hand, we see increasing militarization of local police forces and federal agencies. The former is designed to weaken America. The latter is designed to control the American people.

Certainly, much of the militarization is unnecessary and overreaching, especially when we’re referring to federal agencies, but as a nation forgets God and His laws, God turns that nation over to tyrants who exercise force to retain the evil desires of the people. Remember, “The heart is deceitful above all things, And desperately wicked; Who can know it?” (Jeremiah 17:9 NKJV) If the people who live in a nation will not restrain evil in themselves, God will raise up oppressors to rule over them who will restrain them.

As Robert Winthrop, Former Speaker of the US House of Representatives, said, “Men, in a word, must necessarily be controlled either by a power within them or by a power without them; either by the Word of God or by the strong arm of man; either by the Bible or by the bayonet.”

It is time for America to return to God so that we might serve Him and He might deliver us from the oppressors who rule over us.

Video: 41 Years of Legal Child Killing is 41 Years Too Long! It Is Time to End Abortion!

Jane Roe is Dedicated to Undoing Roe

Jane Roe

January 22, 2014 marks Forty One years of legal child killing in America. Forty years is a Biblical generation. We have killed preborn children in America for more than a generation. It is time to end abortion and protect all innocent human life. It is time for the church to rise up and end abortion.

When I think about 40 years, I am reminded of the children of Israel. God delivered Pharaoh and his army in the red sea and promised to give Israel the land of Canaan, but the Israelites doubted whether God could deliver them from the giants in the land. That generation wondered in the wilderness until all of the men of war had died, and a new generation arose to possess the land.

In 1973, God called for His church to end abortion, but most Christians didn’t even know what abortion was. If it weren’t for a few, faithful Catholics, we wouldn’t even have had a prolife movement. For over forty years, we have sat back and allowed over 57,000,000 preborn children to be slaughtered in our country. Many of those who have been faithful have died or are near the end of their lives. It is time for a new generation to rise up and put an end to abortion and protect all innocent human life.

Will you be a part of the generation that ends abortion? Will you play a role in making history by restoring the sanctity of human life?
